N. Jakarta Prepares 838 Personnel to Smoothen Asian Games

838 joint personnel of the North Jakarta police, army, Fire and Rescue Dept., and Satpol PP are alerted during the Asian Games 2018.

The number of personnel are not yet added from the police headquarters. Besides that we'll also guard three bridges by sending 10 personnel

They will be spread at several locations in North Jakarta, including the match venue, training ground, athletes' homestead, and on the pedestrian bridge (JPO).

North Jakarta Resort Police Chairman, Comr. Pol. Reza Arief Dewanto stated that security is focused on anticipating street crime, terror attacks and traffic jam. From data in the field, safeguards will be carried out on the screen venue, jetski venue, eSport venue, training venue, athlete's homestead, and athletic lodging hotel in Ancol.

"The number of personnel are not yet added from the police headquarters. Besides that we'll also guard three bridges by sending 10 personnel," he expressed, Thursday (8/9).

He explained that those bridges are located on Jalan Yos Sudarso, RE Martadinata, and in Kemayoran area. 

"JPO will be sterilized when there is an Asian Games entourage passing by. But among all that we anticipate the most is the jam," he asserted.

Related with traffic, North Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. Head, Benhard Hutajulu explained that his sub-dept. along with North Jakarta Traffic Unit continues to smoothen traffic flow. He assessed, the odd-even rules along Jalan Benyamin Sueb has shown smoother traffic results.

"We can see traffic of Jalan Yos Sudarso Benyamin Sueb and RE Martadinata looks smoother. Evaluation of the closure of the Podomoro and Ancol Barat toll gates, does not become permanent, depending on needs," he said.
